What Novelvora actually holds about you

Reading a book on this site needs no account. You can read all of Pride and Prejudice and we will know nothing about you except what your browser sends to any web server. So for most readers the honest answer to "what do you hold?" is very little.

We do hold data in four places. Inquiry forms, including book club reading packs and large-print quotes, keep your name, email, phone, city or school and whatever you wrote. The support chat keeps its messages and a random token. Our server logs keep IP addresses and pages requested. And if you arrived from an ad and allowed cookies, the click identifier from Google Ads (gclid), Microsoft Advertising (msclkid) or Meta (fbclid) is stored with the visit.

What you can ask for

• A copy. Everything we hold that is linked to your email or phone number, sent as a plain file.
• A correction. A wrong name on a pack quote, an old email address.
• Deletion. We remove the inquiry, the chat thread and any stored click identifier.
• An end to ad measurement. Decline in "Cookie settings" at the foot of any page. Consent Mode v2 then sets ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage back to denied.

We do not sell personal data, and we have nothing to sell it from. There is no customer database here beyond the inquiries you sent us.

What we cannot reach

Once an ad click is measured, Google, Microsoft and Meta hold their own records under their own policies. We can stop sending them anything new. We cannot delete what they already have, and you would ask them directly: Google through its account data tools, Meta through its settings, and Microsoft under the Microsoft privacy statement.

We also cannot identify you from a visit alone. If you only ever read, there is no record tied to your name, and we will say so rather than ask for more information to go looking.

How the request is handled

1. You send the form below, or write to [email protected], or post a letter to 70 Oak Lane, Floor 2, Austin, Texas 82798.
2. We confirm receipt by email within 10 days.
3. We match the request to the email or phone number you gave. If they don't match anything, we tell you that.
4. We send the copy, make the correction or confirm the deletion within 45 days of receipt.

If a request is refused, we say why in writing, and you may appeal by replying to that email. The editor, not the person who refused it, reads the appeal and answers within 60 days.
