This cookie notice takes effect on September 28, 2026 and was last updated that day. It covers every page of novelvora.us, from the catalogue to each book's reading page. The wider picture of what we record is in the privacy policy; this page is only about what sits in your browser.
Three kinds of storage
Strictly necessary. Your consent choice, and the chat token if you open the chat. Without these the banner would reappear on every page and the chat would forget you mid-conversation. They are set without asking because the site cannot do what you asked without them.
Analytics. Counting visits and which pages readers reach, through Google's measurement tag. Written only once analytics_storage is granted.
Advertising. Cookies from Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta that record that you arrived from an ad and whether you later sent an inquiry. Written only once ad_storage is granted.

Paid clicks and their identifiers
We advertise. Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads send readers here today, usually to a single book page like Pride and Prejudice or to reading-group packs. The link from each ad carries a parameter: gclid from Google Ads, msclkid from Microsoft Advertising, fbclid from Meta.
That value is in the address you land on. On its own it identifies the click, not you. It only becomes a cookie, and only goes back to the platform tied to an inquiry, if you allow advertising storage.
Consent Mode v2, signal by signal
Google Consent Mode v2 runs on every page. It starts with four signals set to denied: ad_storage (ad cookies), ad_user_data (sending user data to Google for ads), ad_personalization (using it for remarketing) and analytics_storage (measurement cookies).
Allow sets all four to granted. Decline sets them back to denied, immediately, including if you had allowed them earlier. In the denied state Google receives only cookieless pings with no identifier. The Microsoft and Meta tags follow the same choice.
Giving and changing your answer
The banner at the foot of the screen has two buttons of the same size: Decline and Allow. It never covers the book you are reading, and you can scroll past it. Nothing optional loads until you press one.
To change your mind, press Cookie settings in the footer of any page. The banner comes back and your new choice replaces the old one at once. Clearing this site's data in your browser does the same.
If you decline
Everything you came for still works. Every chapter of every book reads the same. The lookup finds Ahab or Mrs Dalloway just as well. The inquiry form sends, the chat answers. What stops is measurement: we no longer learn that your visit came from an ad, and no platform gets a cookie in your browser.
